Laguna Beach

Every once in a while we decide to get out of town. Laguna is beautiful and close at hand. The view of the bay below was taken from its southern end, where a really nice litle restaurant used to be.

In town, nice charming little walkways like the Pepper Tree Lane (below left) offer chocolate shops, pubs and places to hang out. On the right, a terrace restaurant, heliotropes having a good time.

Pretty in pink, an office building faces the ocean, bathed in the warming rays of a California summer.

On the left below, Carolyn's Barber Station in the middle of a quiet shopping mall. On the right, a view of the bay from the cliffs to the north.

A magnificent, gnarled tree (don't ask what kind, I leave much to be desired as a botanist) reclines on the soft green grasses, spreading its arms to the light as I sit in its shade.

On the left, an indescribable colour (fuchsia maybe?) in something delicate and beautiful. I really should spend some time to at least learn these creatures' proper names. On the right, another shot of the bay.

Fresh and noisy with the sounds of ocean, two shots taken from a walkway down to the shoreline, not far from Las Brisas, a fun Mexican restaurant in a perfect location. I don't eat Mexican food but their margaritas are just heaven (we had 11 of them whilst leasuring away that warm, breezy afternoon).

Majestic crashing of waves against ancient rock. A place to sit for a long time and feel alive.
